Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between open climbing and a climbing class?
Open climbing lets you use the facilities independently, without booking a time slot. You choose your routes and climb at your own pace, with no time limit during your visit. No class with an instructor is included.
A climbing class takes place at a set time, with an instructor guiding you: technique, footwork, balance and tips suited to your level.
Want to try climbing freely or practise at your own pace? Choose open climbing. Prefer some guidance to learn the basics or improve? Go for a class.
Is climbing accessible to everyone?
You don’t need to be super sporty or have climbed before to try it! At Le Triangle, routes come in different difficulty levels: you can start easy and progress at your own pace. Strength isn’t everything – balance, footwork and technique matter too.
Children have a dedicated area from age 3, under adult supervision. To learn with an instructor, we also offer classes for different ages and levels.
If you have a disability or physical limitation, please contact us before your visit to discuss your needs and how we can welcome you.
I’ve never climbed before: can I come for open climbing?
Yes, you can try open climbing even as a beginner. Start with the easiest boulders, progress at your own pace and read the safety guidelines before you climb.
Open climbing is independent and does not include a class. If you’d rather be guided for your first steps, a class with an instructor will teach you the basics.
What should I wear, and do I need my own gear?
Wear comfortable, flexible clothing that lets you move freely. Remove any jewellery or accessories that could get in the way while climbing.
For bouldering, you don’t need a rope or harness. You do need climbing shoes: bring your own or hire a pair at the front desk.
Can I hire equipment on site?
Yes, you can hire climbing shoes directly at the front desk, so you don’t need to buy your own pair to come climbing.
Shoe hire is already included in some offers, including the First Climb offer. When it’s included, there’s nothing extra to pay for shoes.
For bouldering, you don’t need a rope or harness. Just wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely.
Can I come climbing with children?
Yes! Le Triangle welcomes children from age 3 in a dedicated area. For open climbing, they must be supervised by an accompanying adult.
For coached sessions, we also offer classes by age group and holiday camps during school holidays. Open climbing lets kids discover the activity at their own pace; classes and camps are led by an instructor.
How long should I plan for a session?
With open climbing, you decide how long you stay: take breaks and enjoy the facilities at your own pace until closing. There’s no need to set a duration in advance.
One ticket = one visit: once you leave, you can’t come back in.
For classes and other coached activities, the duration depends on the option chosen and the scheduled slot.
How do I use my purchase?
For open climbing offers, no booking is needed. Come during our opening hours and go to the front desk: just give your name to retrieve your purchase and enjoy your session.
For a class, contact Le Triangle after your purchase to book your slot, by phone on 07 77 94 60 05 or by email at letrianglebercy@gmail.com.
